Machado Meyer Advogados has helped Philippine port manager International Container Terminal Services (ICTSI) buy a container facility concessionaire in Rio de Janeiro’s port for 740 million reais (US$170 million).

The seller, a subsidiary of Brazilian port operator Libra Group, turned to WZ Advogados.

The deal closed on 12 December.

Libra Rio is the concession holder for the operation, management and development of the T1Rio container facility in the port of Rio de Janeiro.

Libra Group is currently under judicial reorganisation and is selling off several assets.

In accordance with Brazilian bankruptcy law, ICTSI acquired Libra Rio as an isolated unit, free from liabilities connected to other entities of Libra Group.
